On Thursday Sandy and Rick came to town. They were driving home from Washington to Arizona, so they stopped and stayed for a couple of days for a break! Gavin LOVED spending time with his Grandma and Grandpa! They played and played and played ball with Gavin! He is OBSESSED with balls and can't get enough of throwing them back and forth! On Friday we met Elliott for lunch at school and he gave his parents a tour of his school, then Gavin, Gram and Gramp and I went to the Las Vegas Zoo! I had never been there before, it is not in a great part of town and we totally passed it trying to find it. It is just on the side of the road, not a huge sign! We parked on the side of the road and there was a peacock running around! The sign (notice in the first picture) says that it is "The Diamond of Las Vegas"...... Yes, definently the "diamond" of Vegas! Almost as good as the San Diego Zoo or Hogle Zoo (JK)! There were tons of pigeons, chicken and roosters and other birds running all over the zoo. They did have a chimpanzee, 2 lions and some monkeys, oh and wallabies, along with other animals! Gavin's favorite were the roosters. He would just stand there and watch them and then he would try to mimic them by moving his head like they do, it was so funny to watch! I shouldn't complain, at least Vegas has some kind of zoo, and it is cheap!Later that day Elliott met up with us at the Tropicana and we went to THE BODIES exhibit. This exhibit is so neat, we had been to it once before, but it is a great one to see a few times. There are real bodies and different parts of the bodies displayed. It is amazing to see, our body is so complex and it is amazing how it all works together. I totally recommend this and if you are a student you get $8.00 off the admission.
It was great to have Sandy and Rick at our house. We enjoyed them so much and were so thankful that they got up and played with Gavin this morning at 5:30 am and let Elliott and I sleep!!! Thanks for everything!
